Postmarginal @ CATR2019

Represented by Dr. Diana Manole, Peter Farbridge and Soheil Parsa, Postmarginal will present a praxis and a panel discussion at the CATR2019 conference at the University of British Colombia in Vancouver (BC) from June 3 to 6, 2019.

The 90-minute participatory workshop, which incorporates demonstrations, acting exercises, somatic experiences, and design thinking strategies, intends to bring citizens (audience) and artists together to rethink how to address challenging issues in the arts, in particular those related to inclusion. The panel invites participants to investigate postmarginality as a theoretical concept and praxis that aim to integrate differences in/through the creative process and particularly in rehearsals.

The Canadian Association for Theatre Research holds a conference each year that brings together theatre scholars, educators, professionals, and students from around the world. This year’s conference will be held at UBC as part of the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences. For information on Congress 2019, please visit congress2019.ca.
